Viviene Discusses Space Lasers at Cosmic Titans Exhibit

Earlier this month, Viviene spoke about her research in optical communications for space at the Cosmic Titans exhibit at Lakeside Arts. On April 10th, she presented in front of Ringdown by Conrad Shawcross, discussing the role of lasers in both space communication (her PhD focus) and gravitational wave detection—the artwork's theme.

Viviene was one of six researchers selected through the New Perspectives initiative to connect their research to the exhibit’s artworks. Her talk highlighted how lasers have been used to detect gravitational waves, confirming black holes in 2015, and how laser systems being developed for advanced space communication.

Cosmic Titans is a free exhibit celebrating the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology.
